About this course

It is a myth that good presentations are made only by people an innate natural ability and the ‘gift of the gab’.

Anybody can learn the secrets used by experts to become both competent and confident when speaking to either a large audience, chairing a meeting or making face to face presentations.

Workshop Objective

To provide participants with a conceptual framework, effective tools and techniques, and the opportunity to practise and refine their presentation planning and delivery.  Its design supports real business presentations and can be adapted to actual presentations the students are scheduled to deliver.

Who this course is for

Participants who will gain the most from their participation in this workshop are managers and staff who have not yet undertaken formal presentation skills training, or those who are interested in a refresher.

How this course is delivered

Facilitation

Facilitators of this workshop will use a case study delivery approach to provide participants with a ‘hands-on’, multi-faceted and challenging learning experience. Participants will be actively engaged in case study activities, scenarios and role-plays to gauge their current skill levels, and to further develop and build new skills for immediate transfer to their workplace.

Materials

A comprehensive participant handbook is provided. Our participants are also entitled to complementary telephone consultation/advice within 60 days of workshop completion. All workshops may be conducted onsite or at our premises, with experienced facilitators providing group and/or individual instruction.

Course Outcomes

  • Make effective use of the time allocated to present key points,
  • Use appropriate audio visual aids to enhance their presentations,
  • Approach question and answer sessions with confidence, and
  • Close their presentations on a strong, positive note.

Facilitators of this workshop will use a scenario-based delivery approach to provide participants with a ‘hands-on’, multi-faceted and challenging learning experience.  It will also draw heavily upon the experiences and challenges of the individual.

Participants will be actively engaged in undertaking a series of structured and unstructured presentations which will support a “‘earning by doing’ approach to knowledge assimilation and transfer.
