About this Course

Due to popular demand, we are now offering AgilePM® weekend training. This will allow you to undertake both your AgilePM® Foundation and Practitioner certification over two weekends. If your busy work schedule prevents you from taking the necessary time away to complete training, then why not use your weekends to further your career development!

This workshop has been designed to deliver insights, practices, and a greater understanding of implementing agile methods into the project environment.Based on the DSDM® (Dynamic System Development Method) Agile Project Framework, this course outlines the foundations, roles and basic tools required for agile adaption.

Foundation Course:

This course prepares candidates for the APMG AgilePM® Foundation certification exam, which is held on the afternoon of day 2 of the course.

Course Objective

This workshop is about providing an understanding of:

  • How to lay the foundations for successful Agile projects
  • How an agile project is managed
  • The different management styles needed for successful Agile projects (compared to “traditional” projects).
  • How Agile can be used in conjunction with PRINCE2®
  • What the requirements are for successfully undertaking the Agile Foundation exam. This workshop also includes review, consolidation of concepts and exam questions for the Foundation level certification.

The course builds on the 2 day Agile Project Management Foundation course and prepares candidates for the APMG Agile Project Management Practitioner certification exam, which is held in the afternoon.

Outcomes & Certification Eligibility

Examination & Certification

Foundation Course:

The AgilePM® Foundation exam is a 40 minute, 50 question closed book multiple choice paper. The pass mark is 25 out of 50 (50%). The Foundation examination addresses knowledge of the terminology associated with the method and a high level understanding of the concepts. The APM Group administers the AgilePM® examination scheme.

Practitioner Course:

The AgilePM® Practitioner exam is a 2.5 hour open book, multiple choice examination based on a project scenario, with a total of 4 questions and 80 question items (total marks). The pass mark is 40 out of a possible 80 (50%). The Practitioner exam tests knowledge, understanding, application, analysis and evaluation of the method. The APM Group administers the AgilePM® examination scheme.

Please note the examination is taken on the afternoon of the workshop, and papers sent away to AMPG for scoring.

The Agile Project Management Practitioner qualification is valid for 5 years. Practitioners should re-register within 3-5 years of their original certification in order to demonstrate their commitment to professional development.

Course Prerequisites

Foundation Course:

There are no pre-requisites for the Agile Project Management Foundation course.

Practitioner Course:

Those wishing to participant in the 1 day Agile Practitioner Preparation course must have completed the 3/2 day Agile Project Management Foundation course and passed the Foundation exam.
